Default I need a pvp Minion Master

Ppl i wanted to build a pvp char and works well enough on pve as well, i wanted a char that can summon minions to a support role, in a pvp or gvg aspect. Someone told me that many good guilds have one of those. Can someone tell me if ra/ne or ne/ra should be the thing to do .. or should i do smthing else rather then ranger like monk or smthing? I want to make it in a way that if i am bored i swap skills and i can output more dmg without the minions. If someone have this kinda build that uses minions to rule plz post here your comments and how to make it work smoothly
And some ppl told me that mesmer or monk as secondary may work out fine as well, im a bit confused on what build is better on pvp, i dont care much on pve since i think any build will work out fine with a simple change of skills

well i cant say much but i have a lvl 14 R/N and the ranger half sucks. i would go with N/R also from what i have tried a zookeeping in pvp kinda sucks and it is much better to go wiht death magic or something with that.

So you dont think having minions in pvp would be good? i read somewhere in the forum that some tactics for gvg use that kinda build and its very effective

i guess "sadrobot" hasn't utilized his ranger's primary half.

If you do go R/N you will have the opption of using curses and some death magic.
If you unlock enough of the skills or read up on what skills are availble to you, you can figure out what will be useful for PVP, PVE and GVG. alternately the N/R build can be just as interesting with soulreaping.

The likely hood of your role in the arena will probably be to disrupt or distract anit-casters and/or slow warrior attacks or weaken them. you can still get some good dmg spells its up to you what you want to focus on.

if you want to try minions. try it. you can still refund points and try a different approach in skills.

Also remember that even when you make a RP Character you can still change secondary class even in post-sear just before ascension. so if you dont like your build then you can switch secondary.

i am not a pvp minion master but i offer you advice. You know everyone has their own play style. it is you who will have to at least try (actually creating the character and using the wide variety of skills) before you judge its worth in the GW World.

Well you can have a PvP minion master but why would you want to gimp yourself. Better just stay PvE that way, the deathmagic line depends to much on dead bodies to be even considered in pvp. So if that is the path you want to go, I would suggest finding a very understanding team and Monk. It does sound like a cool path but its not for PvP.

minion/fiend/horror summoner are the best ganker ever... it is unbelievable how good they are...

Once in tomb, I had a really powerful team... we charged and attacked another team... we were killing them, when they were about to die... another team with death summon used the dead bodies that we created and ganked us... usually we were able to kill the team that jump in from behinde too, but not in this case... we still have most of our people, but the dead body from the team we killed previously became really deadly... purely out numbered.

Well, we lost that one... just because one guy on their team were using death summon like mad right after we kill a team, and then more of us died... giving them even more dead bodies to use... no win situation... of course, I wish we have a smiting monk at that moment.

You can always say this one time, well this one time i kill 90 people and the last one was 55 ft tell and did it all with a stick and a frog leg out my ass. The fact remains that you gimp yourself because your depending on way to much.

1. Dead bodies + Mana to get spells = Cost > reward = usless when cost is greater
2. Weak attacks with longer caste times
3. if nobody is around your dead body. I know that i hardly ever stay around a dead body i move on. Unless your a moron and you and your group all clump up together. Any good team is not going to do this, they are going to kill a target and movon and the area of these spells are not that great'
4. Wells they show you where not to step they very usless but not only death magic has this but still they are usless in pvp

I've found PvP minion masters to be a pain in the rear... the strategy is so complicated that it is very easily countered.

If you want minions in PvP they aren't completely useless, but you should really only grab one from a corpse if you've already won a battle and want to easily win the next one. Otherwise, soul feast is a choice that is hard to pass up.

Actually, I'm still deciding if I want to go heavy death myself... I've got my own thread for that

I do argree with you on this, but if you go Death magic the best way I found for it to work is go Primary Necro and nothing else so you dont have to worry about other spells. No this not gimp you any more then you already are for going Minion master
